Back County Tube Steps - Setting the Standard

Back Country Finish Protection
The nature of tubular accessories demands a highly durable finish. Subject to stone pecking, corrosive chemicals and environmental extremes, an inferior coating simply will not do. Back Country's engineers have spent countless hours bringing you the ultimate finish protection for your new accessory.

Four Stage Galvanized & Epoxy-Coated Black Powdercoat Process
Our four stage galvanized black powdercoat process is so durable we offer a 5-year limited warranty on it! First, the tube is immersed in a phosphate bath to clean and prepare the surface. Next, it is hot dip galvanized to provide a corrosion resistant layer inside and out. Then, an epoxy-coat layer is applied, inside and out, as yet another barrier to corrosion. Finally, a resilient layer of semi-gloss black powdercoat is applied – giving the tube a gleaming yet tough finish.

Back County Tube Steps - Setting the StandardThe Ultimate in Finish Protection
We begin with pure 304 stainless steel, formed into it's final shape, and sanded smooth. Next, a fine rouge gets applied by hand with a high speed polishing wheel. Then an ultra-fine finishing compound is applied by skilled artisans... bringing out the mirror-like finish. (see image right) This is not a plated finish that can flake or peel. With minimal care, this stainless steel will outlast the painted finish on your truck!
